All initial therapist sessions must be conducted via video
🗒️ Clients can change their preference between video/phone sessions from their Cerebral account.
Scheduling cadence
ℹ️ The following visit caps are in place:
Monthly medication plans: Can have any number of upcoming Prescriber sessions scheduled.
Monthly therapy plans: No more than 4 upcoming Therapy sessions scheduled.
Twice a month therapy plans: No more than 2 upcoming Therapy sessions scheduled.
Clients can view their upcoming sessions from their Cerebral account.
Same day sessions
ℹ️ Effective 7/9/25, clients can schedule a session up until 2 hours before the session time with select clinicians. After scheduling, the clinician will be automatically notified via their Cerebral email. For all other clinicians, clients can schedule a session up until 12 hours before the session time.

ℹ️ Where sessions take place:
All prescriber sessions created ON or AFTER 10/22/25 will be conducted via RingCentral.
All therapy sessions created ON or AFTER 2/24/26 will be conducted via Google Meet.
⚠️ Scheduling therapy sessions is coordinated directly between the client and their therapist.
Therapists are responsible for sending their clients invitations for each session via email.
If clients contact us regarding scheduling therapy sessions, redirect them to contact their therapist.
Clients do not have access to schedule therapy sessions via their account.
Client experience
To schedule
a session:
Log into your Cerebral account.
From the homepage, locate ‘Upcoming sessions’.
Select either the ‘Schedule medication session’ or ‘Schedule therapy session’ button.
Choose the date and time that works best for you.
To reschedule
a session:
Log into your Cerebral account.
From the homepage, locate ‘Upcoming sessions’.
The time and date of upcoming sessions will be there.
Click the 3 vertical dots next to the appointment details.
Select ‘Reschedule Appointment’.
Choose the date and time that works best for you.
To cancel
a session:
Log into your Cerebral account.
From the homepage, locate ‘Upcoming sessions’.
The time and date of upcoming sessions will be there.
Click the 3 vertical dots next to the appointment details.
Select Cancel Appointment’.
🗒️ Once a session has been scheduled, rescheduled, or cancelled, clients will automatically receive a confirmation to the email address associated with their Cerebral account.
20 minute sessions
All follow-up sessions with prescribers.
Clients who have had a session with that prescriber within the last 12 months and are assigned back to that prescriber.
40 minute sessions
All initial sessions with prescribers.
Clients who have NOT had a session with that prescriber within the last 12 months and are assigned back to that Prescriber.
60 minute sessions
All therapy sessions.
🗒️ Prescribers are able to request different session lengths during certain situations that are deemed clinically appropriate.
Additional sessions
ℹ️ Additional sessions should be considered on a monthly or a weekly basis.
Prescriber
ℹ️ Additional prescriber session without extenuating clinical circumstances per prescriber’s discretion:
For clients on a monthly medication plan: $25 fee per additional session beyond the 2 sessions allotted per month.
Prescribers will identify and properly document a client’s extenuating circumstances as to why the additional sessions are needed.
Clients with extenuating circumstances are not subject to the additional fee.
Without extenuating circumstances, we should always proceed with the procedure below.
Therapy
ℹ️ Additional therapy session:
$135 fee per additional session beyond the 5 sessions allotted per month or 2 sessions allotted per month for clients on a twice a month plan.
It is up to the discretion of the therapist to determine if they have more than the allotted sessions with their clients.
Clients do not incur additional charges until they have used their allotted sessions. Then, additional charges will be applied for any additional session.
ℹ️ Manual invoices are created to charge clients for additional session fees.
