What's changing?
On October 1, we're retiring our monthly therapy subscription plans. After that date:
Therapy is billed at $150 per session — you only pay for sessions you attend.
If you were on a Medication + Therapy plan, your medication management moves to our Affordable Meds plan: $180 billed every 3 months ($60/month), with the cost and shipping of your medication included if you use CerebralRx.
Why is Cerebral making this change?
Under the subscription model, everyone paid the same monthly rate no matter how many sessions they attended. We're moving to per-session billing so that what you pay reflects the care you actually use — you'll never pay for sessions you don't attend. For clients who attend frequently, this does mean a higher monthly cost than before; the next question covers that directly.
Will I pay more than I do now?
It depends on how often you attend therapy. If you attend sessions less than 3 times per month, you'll likely pay less than your old subscription. If you attend weekly, your monthly cost will be higher than it was under your subscription. We want to be straightforward about that rather than bury it.
I attend therapy weekly. This is a significant increase for me. What are my options?
We understand this change affects frequent-session clients the most. A few things that may help:
-
Talk with your therapist. Session frequency is a clinical decision, and your therapist can help you think through what cadence supports your care — weekly, biweekly, or even monthly. Your therapist may also be able to offer you sessions at the following rates:
- 45-minute session: $125 per session
- 30-minute session: $100 per session
-
Check insurance here. If you're on a new insurance plan, we may be in-network. If we're out of network with your insurance, we can provide a superbill—an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement if your plan has out-of-network benefits.
What happens to my current subscription?
It ends October 1. You'll receive a prorated refund for any unused portion by that date. You don't need to do anything to get it.
When will I see my refund, and where?
Refunds are issued to your original payment method by October 1st.
Do I need to do anything?
No. The transition is automatic — your account, provider, appointments, and treatment plan all stay the same. Only the billing changes.
Will my therapist or prescriber change?
No. This change affects billing only.
How does the $150 session rate work with scheduling and cancellations?
You're charged the same amount ($150) per attended session. For late cancellations and no-shows, you will be charged the full session fee.
What if I decide Cerebral is no longer right for me?
We hope you'll stay, but there's no lock-in under the new model — you're never billed for sessions you don't book. If you choose to end care, you can cancel your account at any time.
Who can I talk to about my specific situation?
Fill out our support form and our team will follow up. If your question is about your treatment plan or session frequency, your therapist is the best person to talk to.
