Therapy is designed to:
- Help children and teens learn coping skills, manage emotions, and improve relationships.
- Support families in understanding and responding to their child’s needs.
- Provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for processing experiences.
Therapy cannot:
- Provide overnight change — progress takes consistent effort and time.
- “Erase” a child’s feelings or make them happy all the time — instead, it teaches them how to handle life’s challenges.
- Replace medical care — we do not prescribe medication, perform medical evaluations, or provide crisis stabilization (but we can connect you with resources).
- Control every environment — changes at home, school, and in peer relationships often require collaboration.
