The medications we prescribe for depression are typically very safe when used according to your prescription.
Antidepressants are the most common medication prescribed for depression and are generally effective in reducing symptoms like anxiety, depression, and insomnia, typically, often with little to no material side effects.
If you do experience side effects you are concerned about, let your prescriber know as soon as possible. They can help you adjust your dosage, transition you to a new medication, or taper you off of your medication altogether.
Stopping these medications suddenly or without consulting your prescriber first may result in withdrawals or other negative side effects.
We do not currently prescribe controlled substances.
