Our prescribers are all board-certified psychiatrists, physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. We do extensive vetting of all of our prescribers as well, and typically hire less than 2% of qualified applicants. If you are located in the UK, our prescribers are all General Practitioners who have been licensed with the General Medical Council. Thus, they are all UK-registered and in good professional standing.
In terms of care, your Cerebral prescriber is the component of your Care Team that determines and supports the medication portion of your treatment plan. They will manage your treatment plan and answer any related questions. Additionally, Prescribers may confirm your diagnosis - in conjunction with your Therapist - and help create a custom and specialized treatment plan that is unique to your experience, diagnosis, and biochemistry.
Am I required to have a video visit with my prescriber?
In short, no! The only time you are required to meet with a Cerebral prescriber is if you are interested in receiving services for medication management or are currently being prescribed medication through Cerebral. If you are receiving medication through Cerebral, you will be required to meet with your prescriber on a recurring basis (typically every 3 months). If you are not interested in medication management, Cerebral has therapy only plans that will not require any interactions with a prescriber.
If you are not comfortable with a video visit, you may also opt to change your communication preference to phone visits rather than video.
I have questions about my medication, what do I do?
If you have questions about your medication, adverse side-effects, or feel it is not for you, please reach out through the chat feature located in your Cerebral profile. You may also alert your Therapist. Your Care Team will work together collectively to address your concerns and provide instructions on how to proceed. In most cases, your prescriber may request that you schedule a follow-up visit.
