Most of our as-needed medications are meant to treat anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Check with your prescriber if you’re interested in a particular as-needed medication.
Please note: there is no guarantee that your prescriber will administer any medications. Medications are provided based on your prescriber’s clinical evaluation which consists of their substantial experience, education, and industry standard. If your prescriber believes that there is a clinical precedent and that you would benefit from these types of medications, it is only then that they would be administered.
If you’re using an as-needed medication daily, please contact your clinical coordinator, therapist, or prescriber so you can discuss other alternatives to help manage your symptoms. As-needed medications are not considered long-term solutions. They’re used as an additional aid to manage acute symptoms.
We can only prescribe a maximum of 30 tablets within a month. In addition, we no longer write prescriptions for controlled substances. However, there are still as-needed medications that may be available to you through your prescriber.
How much do as-needed medications cost?
As-needed medications are billed separately from your subscription cost, as is the case with other medications. The cost of these medications varies from $10-$50 through our partnered pharmacy. These costs may increase when the medication is being sent to your local pharmacy. If you would prefer that they be sent there instead, please ask your clinical coordinator about resources like GoodRx to help reduce costs.
If you’re worried about cost, please let your prescriber know so they can help find you a cost-effective alternative. Your prescriber can let you know the exact price of your medication during your appointment. You’ll need to agree to these medications' extra costs before getting them sent out to you. We can always send them to your local pharmacy as well, but we have no control of the cost at that time. Your local pharmacy will dictate the price or co-pay, and you’ll be responsible for covering it.
What if I lose or misplace my medication?
If you lose or misplace an as-needed medication, please reach out to your clinical coordinator to determine the best next step.
If you’re experiencing a medical emergency, please go to your nearest emergency room.
